# Ask Ideatura to turn a task into a parameterised automation

> Automation parameters · Revit examples

## Overview

Describe the decisions a future user should make in the run dialog. Specify a clear label, value type, unit, default, required/optional status, bounds or options, and whether choices come from the model.

Start with parameters that matter for the result. Test a second run with different input, a boundary value and an empty required field. Good labels should let someone use the form without opening the implementation.

## Example request

```text theme={null}
Turn this checked grid-dimensioning task into a reusable automation. Add required multi-select floor plans; independent per-grid and overall checkboxes; millimetre offset inputs with sensible explicit ranges and steps; multi-select sides; and single-choice style and grid source. Explain the proposed defaults and how repeat runs handle existing dimensions before saving it.
```

## In Ideatura

1. Describe the working task and inspected result.
2. List the controls the reusable form needs.
3. Ask Ideatura to expose them as parameters.
4. Review the generated form and test meaningful variations.

## Check the result

A different user can configure the workflow and understand what will happen.
