# Select one option: dropdowns and radio-style choices

## Overview

Use a single-choice parameter when exactly one alternative should apply. The screenshot’s Dimension Style and Grid source use this pattern, with Revit default and Host selected.

The inspected control is a searchable dropdown with a circular single-choice icon. It provides the same choose-one decision as a radio group, but an exposed row of radio buttons is not established by this source.

## In Ideatura

1. Open the selector.
2. Search or inspect its available options.
3. Choose one value.
4. Check whether the field is required and whether it can be cleared.

## Check the result

Exactly one intended value is passed to the automation.
