# Set numbers with sliders and precise inputs

> Automation parameters · Revit examples

## Overview

Integer parameters accept whole numbers; float parameters accept decimal values. Each can define an initial value, minimum, maximum and step. Studio can show a slider alongside a precise numeric input; a wide or overly fine range falls back to the numeric input in the inspected code.

The screenshot labels both offsets in millimetres. Read units explicitly: Per-grid offset is 2000 mm and Overall offset is 1000 mm in this example. Those are sample values, not universal defaults.

## In Ideatura

1. Read the label, unit and allowed range.
2. Use the slider for adjustment or type an exact value.
3. Check the accepted value.
4. Inspect the resulting native offset or quantity.

## Check the result

The submitted number has the intended precision, unit and effect.
