# Populate sheets

> Work from an existing drawing list and preserve its organization.

Use this route when sheets or a drawing list already exist. Creating one new sheet per room is a different workflow.

  1\. Prepare the list
</h2>

Identify existing sheet numbers and names, the views to place, title blocks and items to preserve. If using a table or CSV, explain its columns and confirm that the relevant rows can be read.

  2\. Confirm the mapping
</h2>

Ask for the source-view-to-destination-sheet mapping and resolve missing or ambiguous views before placement. Test one sheet. For creating new views, use [Room packages](/draw/drawing-output/create-coordinated-views-and-sheets-with-an-automation).

  3\. Inspect the sheet
</h2>

Check view identity, scale, numbering, title block and retained notes/details. Review overflow and reading order with [Arrange views](/draw/drawing-output/arrange-views). Save only after inspecting the native output.
