# Choose Core, Advanced or Direct API access

> Ideatura Studio

## Overview

The inspected code describes Core as the stable guarded Ideatura surface, Advanced as extended capabilities with unsafe direct APIs disabled, and Direct as direct Revit API access that can bypass Ideatura guardrails.

Mode is separate from the model and the target permissions. The inspected Revit transition requires Full access; the latest screenshot also shows Direct with No apps, so a route-specific explanation is needed.

## In Ideatura

1. Identify the active agent route and target.
2. Read the mode description.
3. Select the required mode and review any access transition.
4. Test a bounded operation and inspect the result.

## Check the result

You know which execution surface is being used and what access it requires.
