# Annotate an object or group

> Ideatura Studio

## Overview

The Annotation panel asks for an object or group to annotate. Structure also has an Annotations tab.

Keep model-associated annotations distinct from pen marks drawn over a captured view. Use the right mechanism for information that needs to remain attached to a component.

## In Ideatura

1. Select the object or group.
2. Open its Annotation area.
3. Add the intended information using the available controls.
4. Save and locate it again.

## Check the result

The annotation remains associated with the intended object.
