# Workbench: edit a personal copy

## Overview

Workbench contains personal editable copies. Its screen includes Search, View, New folder, Upload and per-item menus.

Use a personal copy to work on material before sharing it. The footer explicitly says to copy one to share it; editing your copy is not the same as updating the shared source.

## In Ideatura

1. Find or upload a sample file.
2. Open an editable copy.
3. Make and save a small revision.
4. Use the copy/share destination offered by the file menu.

## Check the result

The edited copy and shared source are distinguishable.
