# Workspaces and navigation

> Switch workspaces, find Studio areas and read their status.

<h2 id="switch-workspaces">
  1\. Switch workspaces
</h2>

<span id="switch-workspaces-overview" />

The selector at the top of Studio establishes the workspace you are working in. Check it before opening shared files, skills or automations.

A workspace is different from a project and from the connected Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino or Blender document. Name all three when a task could otherwise be ambiguous.

<span id="switch-workspaces-in-ideatura" />

1. Open the workspace selector.
2. Choose the intended workspace.
3. Check a familiar project or skill in that workspace.

<span id="switch-workspaces-check-the-result" />

The workspace name and its contents match your task.

  2\. Navigation rail
</h2>

<span id="navigation-rail-overview" />

Conversation, History and Workbench cover the conversation and your personal working material. Automations, Skills, Projects, Timeline and Trash expose workspace resources.

Use the selected icon and page title to identify the active area. Tooltips provide names for the icon-only rail.

<span id="navigation-rail-in-ideatura" />

1. Locate Conversation and History.
2. Open Workbench and then Projects.
3. Find Report a problem, Support and Settings.

<span id="navigation-rail-check-the-result" />

You can name the active area without guessing the icon.

  3\. Personal and shared
</h2>

<span id="personal-and-shared-overview" />

History holds personal conversations, and Workbench holds personal editable copies. Projects, Skills and Automations contain workspace material. Check the audience and destination before sharing.

Moving from a personal copy to shared material is a deliberate action. Check the destination before sharing work or editing a shared instruction.

<span id="personal-and-shared-in-ideatura" />

1. Compare the footer in History, Workbench and Projects.
2. Identify the current workspace.
3. Choose the correct destination for the result.

<span id="personal-and-shared-check-the-result" />

You know whether the material is personal or workspace-visible.

<h2 id="status-indicators">
  4\. Status indicators
</h2>

<span id="status-indicators-overview" />

A blank Conversation says there are no messages yet. A capture panel can ask you to select an app. History can show an Unblocked status; the rail can show unread indicators.

Read the accompanying label before acting. An empty view, unavailable action and failed operation need different next steps.

<span id="status-indicators-in-ideatura" />

1. Read the screen title and empty-state text.
2. Check workspace, selected application and active task.
3. Use the relevant setup or troubleshooting guide.

The next action follows the displayed state.
