# Explore Studio

> Find your way from a conversation to its results, files and reusable work.

Studio is the desktop app where you work with AI. The [web portal](https://app.ideatura.ai/) is where you manage your account and subscription.

Start with the [3D Modelling quick start](https://docs.ideatura.ai/v2/quick-starts/3d-modelling.md) if you would like a model to explore while reading this page.

## Conversation and viewer

The navigation rail is on the left. The conversation holds your requests, AI replies and results. Click a file or model card to open a viewer beside the chat.

A conversation and its model, side by side. Keep the result open while asking for changes.

Viewers let you inspect PDFs, images and 3D models. For work in a connected Revit or AutoCAD document, inspect the result in that application too.

## Send and refine a request

Type in the message box at the bottom of the conversation. Its controls let you choose an AI model, select **Connected Apps**, attach files and add skills.

**Connected Apps** selects the open application document AI works on. Choose **No apps** for a task entirely in Studio, such as creating an IFC model. **Direct** is an execution mode shown beside the AI model; it is separate from which application is connected. See [Prompting](https://docs.ideatura.ai/v2/essentials/prompting.md) for the message controls.

Use markup tools in a viewer to circle an area or add a note, then attach that markup to your next message. Explain the change you want, such as “Make the window marked A wider; keep the other openings unchanged.”

Markups connect an instruction to the part of a drawing you mean.

## Find chats and files

Open **History** to search for a chat or organize it into a project. Use the pencil button in the conversation header for a new chat. [Chats](https://docs.ideatura.ai/v2/essentials/chats.md) explains renaming, pinning, moving, forking and rewinding.

The file areas serve different purposes:

| Area | What you find there |
| - | - |
| **Workbench** | Your personal editable copies of files. |
| **Project files** | Files shared in the workspace. |
| **Timeline** | Recent files produced in the workspace. |
| **Trash** | Deleted files you can restore when available. |

## Reuse work with your team

Open **Automations** to find saved tasks and run them with new inputs. Open **Skills** to maintain reusable instructions and workspace Guidelines.

Use the workspace selector to choose the team whose files and library you are working with. A project groups related chats inside that workspace. See [Automations](https://docs.ideatura.ai/v2/essentials/automations.md) and [Standards and skills](https://docs.ideatura.ai/v2/essentials/standards-and-skills.md) to create your own reusable work.

## Settings and help

Open **Settings** for your account, preferences, updates and add-in repair. To report a problem, use the **bug icon** in Studio and describe what happened. Include the affected chat and what you expected to happen.
