# Inspect model data

> Read model information before deciding whether to change it.

## 1. Define the scope

Name what you want to inspect and keep the request separate from any changes. For example: “List the rooms on Level 01 with their names, numbers and areas, without changing the model.” Say whether to include linked models when they matter to the check.

![Request to list Level 01 room names, numbers and areas without changing the Revit model.](https://mintcdn.com/ideatura/nzT94gVtuzNeKL9P/images/revit/room-list-request.svg?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=nzT94gVtuzNeKL9P\&q=85\&s=cb784517bd169b12d1d3e72d9dffde62)

For a Blender scene, identify the objects or group to inspect and the measurements needed. This viewport shows the existing scene used to define that scope.

## 2. Review coverage

Check that the report covers the rooms, doors or objects you asked about. In this example, Studio listed room numbers, names and areas in square metres for 48 rooms on the host model's level named **01**; linked rooms were excluded.

Read the summary for missing information and unusual values. Studio reported a total of **2,983.64 m²**, **15 rooms with zero area** and some duplicated room numbers. The reasons for the zero areas still needed checking in Revit.

## 3. Inspect findings

Find reported rooms in your model and compare their properties with the report. Here, Revit shows room **101, Entrance**, at **111.365 m²**, which rounds to the reported **111.37 m²**. This confirms one room's area; the rest of the report still needs review. See [Check requirements](https://docs.ideatura.ai/v2/guides/model/geometry/check-a-model-against-a-requirement.md) before deciding what to change.
