Overview

The published example uses DWG vector geometry, layers and blocks to reconstruct native Revit elements. Begin by establishing units, levels, element scope, and the information the 2D plan cannot supply. Keep the repair loop in the lesson: the published account describes missing walls, incorrectly oriented facade supports, and incomplete curtain-door placement in the first pass. Compare the native model with the source and correct those specific differences.

In Ideatura

  1. Inspect the DWG geometry, layers, blocks and units.
  2. Agree how walls, openings and dependencies map to native elements.
  3. Create a bounded part in dependency order.
  4. Compare the result with the drawing and inspect native elements.
  5. Repair gaps and record assumptions about heights, materials and types.

Check the result

The result is a checked native reconstruction with its assumptions stated; a plan alone does not specify a complete BIM model.
