Overview

The existing example starts with a 2D component drawing and uses a conversation to create a 3D parametric Revit family. Supply the dimensions, relationships, intended category, reference planes, and the parameters that should control the component. Inspect geometry and family logic separately. Flex the required parameters, test more than one value, and load the family into a project to check whether it remains usable and editable.

In Ideatura

  1. Attach the component sheet or manufacturer drawing.
  2. Ask Ideatura to extract dimensions, relationships, and unresolved assumptions.
  3. Agree geometry, parameters, references and constraints.
  4. Create the first version through chat and inspect it in Revit.
  5. Flex, correct, and save the checked family.

Check the result

The family responds correctly to parameter changes; plausible geometry alone is insufficient.
