Overview An IFC output can open beside the chat as a 3D model. Use the available view controls to inspect the result from the angles relevant to the task. A visually plausible model still needs checks for size, alignment and element information. Name the file and revision when asking for a correction. In Ideatura
  1. Open the IFC file.
  2. Frame the area under review.
  3. Inspect several useful views.
  4. Describe a precise correction with a captured reference.
Check the result The inspected model is the intended file and revision.

Project panel

Overview Use the IFC viewer’s Project panel to find its 3D and 2D groups. Select the model or view you want to inspect. Keep the viewer’s Project panel distinct from Studio’s Projects library. One organises the open model/view context; the other organises workspace files. In Ideatura
  1. Open the IFC Project panel.
  2. Select the existing 3D Model entry.
  3. Inspect the available 2D entries and add controls.
  4. Return to the required view.
Check the result You can identify the active view and its model.

Find elements

Overview Structure exposes model search and Hierarchy, Types and Annotations tabs. Use the appropriate route to locate an element or a related set of elements. A file name, a model element and a viewer annotation are different things. Keep that distinction when selecting context for a request. In Ideatura
  1. Search for a known element.
  2. Locate it in Hierarchy.
  3. Compare the Types and Annotations views.
  4. Select the intended result.
Check the result Selection identifies the intended element or annotation.

Model visibility

Overview Visibility icons sit alongside entries in the model structure. Use visibility to make the area being inspected easier to understand. Changing what is visible in a viewer is distinct from deleting geometry or editing the source model. Restore the relevant context before judging relationships. In Ideatura
  1. Locate the relevant tree entry.
  2. Use the available visibility control.
  3. Inspect the exposed area.
  4. Restore the surrounding context.
Check the result You understand both the selected component and its relationship to the model.

Element details

Overview The Details panel asks you to select an element. Use it alongside the 3D view to inspect the information available for the selected model object. Check geometry and properties together. A correct-looking component can still carry incomplete or incorrect information. In Ideatura
  1. Select a model element.
  2. Read its Details fields.
  3. Compare them with the task requirements.
  4. Report the specific mismatch.
Check the result The selected object’s visible properties agree with the intended result.

Annotate objects

Overview The Annotation panel asks for an object or group to annotate. Structure also has an Annotations tab. Keep model-associated annotations distinct from pen marks drawn over a captured view. Use the right mechanism for information that needs to remain attached to a component. In Ideatura
  1. Select the object or group.
  2. Open its Annotation area.
  3. Add the intended information using the available controls.
  4. Save and locate it again.
Check the result The annotation remains associated with the intended object.

Issues and BCF

Overview Open Issues in the IFC interface and choose Add BCF or New BCF as appropriate. Keep the relevant model and view selected while describing the issue. A useful issue identifies the location, the observed problem and the requested resolution. Keep the model revision clear when exchanging an issue. In Ideatura
  1. Open Issues.
  2. Inspect the BCF import and creation controls.
  3. Prepare a bounded issue with a clear viewpoint and description.
  4. Reopen the issue against the same model.
Check the result The issue points to the intended problem and model context.
