A sequence is useful only when each operation and its handoff are understood. This guide describes the checks to make before combining automations; available chaining controls depend on the workflow.

1. Test each operation

Run and inspect each automation separately on representative input. Record prerequisites and the output passed to the next step. Do not use a chain to hide a failing operation.

2. Define the handoff

Specify the execution order, shared parameters and any manual selection. Decide what should happen if a step fails or produces no output. Interactive selection may require you to remain in the connected application.

3. Inspect partial work

Test a small sequence and inspect every stage. If it stops, identify completed, missing and uncertain results before rerunning. A fresh run may duplicate earlier work. Read Automation lifecycle and Review and recover.
