An existing model contains decisions that may not appear in a screenshot. Describe the change and the work that must remain.

1. Identify the baseline

Save the current native file as your project requires. Name the document, elements and views to change, plus geometry, parameters, annotations and relationships to preserve.

2. Plan a small edit

Prefer a bounded modification when it meets the task. If reconstruction is proposed, review what could be lost, including hosting, subcategories, hidden geometry and existing references. Supply exact dimensions and clarify which source is authoritative.

3. Inspect the change

Compare before and after in native views. Check joins, hosts, parameters and affected annotations as well as appearance. See Review and recover and Revit families for family-specific checks.
