A design change can remove or invalidate annotation references. A saved automation is not a guarantee of automatic repair or preservation of manual offsets.

1. Inspect the change

Identify affected elements, surviving dimensions and tags, and the intended references after the change. Save a baseline and compare with the last accepted drawing where available.

2. Choose the correction

Decide which annotations should remain, be reattached or be recreated. Explain manual placement and styling to preserve. Test the proposed operation on one changed example; do not assume selective refresh or automatic restoration is available.

3. Review the repaired view

Check references, values, duplicates, placement and neighboring annotations. If recreation loses useful manual work, use a narrower manual correction. Record the limits before reusing the workflow. See Review and recover.
