1. Define the grid layout

Define origin, axes, spacing, count, extents, and grid labels. Separate the fixed naming rule from the values that change between projects. Build and inspect one grid layout, then repeat with different spacing. Check intersections, labels, extents, and the treatment of existing grids.

2. Example request

Adapt this example request to your project’s origin, spacing and naming rules.

3. Test the layout

  1. Open a New Chat and provide the sample model, target and rule.
  2. Explain what you need and answer any questions about the drawing.
  3. Try it on one drawing and check the result.
  4. Save the choices you want to reuse, then try another drawing.

4. Check the result

Compare the grid positions in Revit, labels and extents with the agreed layout. Test a second spacing configuration and check that a rerun treats existing grids as intended.
